Pyrenees Weekend
Headed to the Pyrenees this weekend and thought I would drop a few photos in here.
Starting with of course the mountains themselves, once the cloud cleared there really was some spectacular views on offer.
The shear scale of what is in front of you is quite hard to comprehend and to be honest very hard to do justice to in a photograph.

After staring at the Pyrenees mountains for a while we moved down to the snowboard park to see some xtreme sports in action, photos after the jump.
Walking upto the main jump I saw my first flyer getting some good air and making it look easy!

Of course the next one was soon to follow, sporting a somewhat relaxed style and IMHO looking a little like a smurf.

Once they noticed the bloke with the camera (me) the tricks really started to heat up.

And soon it seemed like the laws of gravity were being ignored.

Then again, not all the attempts were quite so successful.

So was it worth it? Freezing my arse off to see a load of insane snowboards show off?
Well I think this next board says it all!

The rest of the weekend consisted of eating, drinking and throwing myself down the side of said mountain so no more photos there, or at least ones I’d put on here
The last couple of snaps are from Millau Viaduct which it is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world, with one mast’s summit at 343 metres (1,125 ft) — slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower and only 37 m (121 ft) shorter than the Empire State Building (according to wikipedia)
The first shot is a bit more arty, taken while driving over the bridge itself and no, I wasn’t doing the driving.

Finally we have Millau Viaduct itself, taken from the very well placed viewing area, at a not so reasonable time of the morning.
Just to give you an idea of scale, the dark patch in the middle of the clouds to the left of the bridge are the tops of trees in the valley below, it really is high up!
