Will it blend?

Blendtec’s will it blend it a stroke of marketing genius.

The videos follow a simple format, take one blender and add… well… pretty much anything.

There has been Nike trainers, golf balls, a camcorder, a Wii remote, an iPhone and loads more.

The video’s are hugely popular on youtube, with the original iPhone blending currently showing just short of 7 million views.

This really is viral advertising at its best, massive exposure while showing off how good their blenders really are.

Do you think your home blender would last long chewing on a tin can or a bunch of magnets?

The advertising potential here has been even further utilised, by way of product placement in the videos.

Weezer’s pork and beans is an easy spot and as for the Nike trainers, well just watch it,  blatantly obvious but still pretty cool.

And again in that lies the genius, it’s a win all around.
Blendtec show off their product and potentially make some money/cover their costs, the product’s manufacturer gets to piggy back a superb campaign and we get to watch something, that potentially shouldn’t,  get blended.

Below is one of my favorites, glow sticks, though I have to admit it was a toss up between this and the Bic lighters.
So watch away and remember, don’t try this at home kids!
